CONFERENCES "INNOVATIVE IDEAS FOR A NEW WEST" Population. Climate. Energy. Every year the Sopris Foundation hosts a conference to discuss these issues. The Sopris Foundation hosts "Innovative Ideas for a New West" a forum for elected officials, planners, ranchers and entrepreneurs in the West. The three-day events host speakers that are practioners of various renewable or sustainable projects. Accomplishment over fame is our criteria for selection. The purpose of Sopris Foundation conferences is to inspire decision makers. Attendees come to meet peers facing parallel challenges and leave equipped with new tools. CONFERENCE 2008 In 2008, the Sopris Foundation has decided to focus on research on innovative ideas, as well as implementation of tangible projects in the Roaring Fork Valley. Stay tuned for reports on our research into European innovation in sustainability, as well as stories from the trenches related to our renewable energy and energy pricing work. PAST CONFERENCES
